Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR)

Nitrile rubber is made from butadiene and acrylonitrile through emulsion polymerization. It has excellent oil resistance, high wear resistance, good heat resistance, strong adhesion force, and good wear resistance. The disadvantage is that low temperature resistant, poor ozone resistance, poor insulation performance, slightly low elasticity. NBR is mainly used to make oil resistant rubber products. It can be used for a long time in air at 120°C or in oil at 150°C.
Properties
Excellent resistance to atmospheric aging such as: heat, ozone and weather resistant
Good resistance to most water-based chemicals
Great resistance to abrasives and tearing
Good electrical resistivity
Good resistant to polar solvents like water, acids, alkalies, phosphate esters
Temperature range from –20 °C to +100 °C
Special compounds flexible down to –55 °C
Applications
Roll covers
Hydraulic hoses
Conveyor belting
Oil field packers
Seals for all kinds of plumbing and appliance applications
Injection or transfer molded products
Extruded hose or tubing
Calendered sheets (floor mats and industrial belting)
Various sponge articles
